BMW USA announced that the 2008 calendar year will be a year of celebration as we welcome into the USA the 2008 BMW 128i coupe and the 2008 BMW 135i coupe.

2007 BMW X5 DVD System

The integrated X5 DVD entertainment system that is an option in the 2007 BMW X5 is a smart addition for families with children. The DVD screen is mounted between the two front bucket seats and can fold down when not in use.

The BMW X5 DVD player comes with two wireless headsets that produce crisp quality sound. The BMW wireless headphones keep the driver from being distracted when a DVD or CD is being played in the rear player. For small kids, the challenge will be to train them to shut-off the BMW wireless headphones when they are not in use. The headsets can be stored in the seat pockets of the front bucket seats.

The BMW X5 DVD Entertainment system operating controls are a combination of manual dials that face the second row passengers as well as a wireless DVD remote controller. When a DVD is inserted, the wireless controller gives the passenger the normal options of playing the DVD or navigating the DVD menu. The wireless remote control is easy to use but I am not sure if the remote will be easily lost with kids getting in and out of the car.

The BMW DVD Entertainment Package also has rear seat input for an auxiliary device. Standard RCA jacks for sound and video (yellow, red and white jacks) are provided for easy connections. The 2007 BMW X5 DVD system make be the perfect option package for families that take long trips in their new X5!

BMW X5 Bluetooth Cell Phones

Connecting your Bluetooth enabled cell phone to your new 2007 BMW X5 is simple and convenient. There are no cables to attach to your phone and the phone can even stay in your pocket!

The 2007 BMW X5 isn’t a radical departure from the outgoing model; it promises to keep the best of the 2006 model while bringing the mechanical bits, comfort features and, yes, the styling, into accordance with the rest of the BMW lineup.

Thankfully, BMW stylists exercised a gentle hand when reshaping the sheet metal of the X5, which BMW still insists on calling a “Sports Activity Vehicle” in spite of it being, for all intents and purposes, a Sport Utility Vehicle.

Many of the styling cues of the X3 and 3-Series can be found on the new X5, which wears them relatively well, considering its substantial size. Speaking of size, the new X5 grows 2.4 inches in width and a surprising 7.4 inches in length (see technical data sheet) —enough to accommodate an optional two-butt third-row seat—compared with the 2006 model.....

Internet Buzz Has Started on the X1 Rumor mill

The BMW user group chat boards have been buzzing with the talk of a BMW X1 slated for model year 2010. It seems that "Auto Bild" magazine cover shown above, was the first to break the story. You can visit their website by clicking here.

There has been no official announcement from BMW as of today. The talk has been that BMW will outfit the X1 will with the gas and diesel power plants from the BMW 1 Series car and strap that on a modified X3 frame.

When we receive information on the BMW X1, we will post it but remember that nothing is official until we get a press release from BMW.
